ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY
More sensitive than radiography, echocardiography is a real time ultrasound of the heart. This is considered the gold standard diagnostic tool in both human and veterinary cardiology. Our patients at Shadow Lake Animal Hospital have access to the services of a Board Certified Veterinary Cardiologist performing echocardiograms and making treatment recommendations. With the use of echocardiography, we can accurately diagnose, treat and monitor critical cardiac patients. By accurately diagnosing and treating cardiac disease, your pet's quality of life will be greatly improved.
Patients at Shadow Lake Animal Hospital with heart disease or respiratory prolems may be evaluated by Dr. Rosie Henik, a veterinary internist who is board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Henik retired from the faculty of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009, and now brings her mobile ultrasound practice and specialty care to Shadow Lake's patients.
